Cannabis Networking Events: Sensi Night Sets a New Standard

Jamie Cooper & Sensi magazine team host successful networking event in Detroit, Michigan

As a digital organic marketing professional in the beauty industry, I've harbored a desire to transition into the cannabis realm for about four years. Having witnessed the beauty industry's mastery in creating the perfect atmosphere for networking events, I recognized the importance of immersing myself in as many cannabis networking events as possible.

However, after attending eight events in three months, I began to feel uninspired and unmotivated, realizing that these gatherings weren't exuding the "high vibe" I was seeking.

Then came Sensi Night on November 16th, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan. My aim was simple: connect with industry friends, engage with their attendees, and contribute to their holiday toy drive. Stepping into the event, I turned to my friend and declared, "This is where I belong!" while grabbing my copy of Sensi Michigan's Fall 2023 issue.

My primary objective was to introduce myself to Sensi's highly regarded Michigan Market Director, Jamie Cooper. As someone new to cannabis but well-versed in networking events, I wanted to show appreciation for the work Jamie and her team put into the event. With a warm smile, Jamie responded, "Our events are always focused on our community. We love bringing like-minded people together consistently, fostering an environment that leads to great opportunities and collaborations."

And indeed, they did. Sensi set a new standard for cannabis networking events in my eyes.

Here's what stood out to me as a professional attending to grow my network:

  1. Philanthropy in Action: Instead of cash donations, they encouraged attendees to contribute to the holiday toy drive.

  2. Convenient Venue: The location was easy to find, with free parking available.

  3. Strategic Timing: The event was thoughtfully scheduled later in the day to accommodate those with other responsibilities but not too late for the Friday early risers.

  4. Welcoming Atmosphere: The well-lit venue with non-intrusive music created an inviting space for conversations without the need to shout.

  5. Chic Setting: The stylish atmosphere encouraged socialization among attendees who were passionate about cannabis and eager to connect on a personal level.

  6. Diverse Vendor Showcase: A variety of reputable vendors both inside and outside the venue added an experiential element to the event.

  7. Organic Promotion: Professionals attending spread the word organically, resulting in a more authentic and engaged group of attendees.

Leaving the event, I was filled with excitement and motivation. The atmosphere of reputable professionals connecting, sharing ideas, and discussing their passion for cannabis was the vibe I had been searching for. As I venture further into the cannabis industry, I won't be turning down any future Sensi event invitations—and neither should you if given the chance!
